Cheltenham achieves service delivery success with Idox software

Cheltenham Borough Council has shared the success of its current transformation programme in a newly-released video, explaining how service areas such as taxi licensing have been adapted to realise savings for the Council and deliver convenience to citizens.

The Council’s investment in Idox’s Digital Platform has brought a number of benefits, not least automating operations at the front and back end to deliver time and cost savings.

For the Licensing team in particular, the streamlined taxi licensing service now in place allows local taxi drivers to complete and submit applications online, while minimising the manual work involved in the management and processing of such submissions. Commenting on the new digital approach, Cheltenham Borough Council’s Licensing Manager Louis Krog, said: “We’ve become more streamlined, more commercial and smarter in the way we work.” 

Programme Manager, Sanjay Mistry adds: “Having self-service, having customers undertake what they want to do at their convenience, with us, is paramount. Idox has delivered a platform which delivers solutions for a wide variety of council services – and that’s key.”

The video release comes as Idox prepares to attend the Institute of Licensing’s flagship conference in Stratford-upon-Avon next week (14-16th November). As lead sponsors once again, the three-day event aims to deliver insight and training on core licensing areas, with Louis Krog also hosting a session on the commercialisation of local authorities.
