Idox’s advanced alternative to Esri’s LocatorHub

Esri recommends Idox’s solution to customers as a replacement for LocatorHub

Idox partner, Esri, is retiring its LocatorHub address management solution in December this year. As part of its process in ending the product lifecycle and ensuring customers are supported, Esri has presented alternative suggestions to its customer base during its product retirement webinar.

As the most advanced and functionally rich corporate gazetteer available, Esri has recommended Idox’s AddressBase Premium address management solution to its customers as the ideal alternative solution to LocatorHub. Refined over the last 25 years, the technology has been proven by large and complex organisations across Great Britain, including half the emergency services where accurate address data is critical for positive outcomes.

The solution consumes AddressBase Premium (ABP), the most accurate and up-to-date address dataset available, providing Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs) and the full life cycle of a property including provisional, historic and alternative addresses. By seamlessly integrating with ArcGIS and other operational systems, the solution also ensures consistency across the organisation.

Dinesh Thanigasalam, Head of Address Data Solutions, Idox, explains, “While our solution is comparable to LocatorHub in its capabilities, the key difference is that it is predominantly a commercial-off-the-shelf solution meaning it only requires a small amount of bespoke code. As such, our solution more readily keeps pace with changes in technology and data standards, including the forthcoming National Geographic Database (NGD) which is the Ordnance Survey’s replacement for AddressBase Premium.”

Idox’s address management solution uses a rich and complex content dataset and has been developed to deliver the capability of consuming both ABP and NGD. This, in addition to enabling the ability to create and manage your own or temporary properties and streets, makes Idox’s address management solution the most advanced available.
