Bundeswehr universities secure over €43 million with Idox funding and information service

Bundeswehr University Munich (UniBw M) and the Helmut Schmidt University / Bundeswehr University Hamburg (UniBw H) have maximised their research potential, securing more than €43 million in one year alone with the support of Idox funding and information service, RESEARCHconnect.

Idox online research service, RESEARCHconnect delivers relevant funding information and resources to Higher Education and Research Institutions worldwide and has been instrumental in helping both of the German universities to identify and successfully bid for funding, with UniBw M and UniBw H receiving €31.7 million and €12 million in funding respectively in 2017.

Dr. Jens Urny, Research Support Manager at Helmut Schmidt University, comments: “The time saved in having easy access to systematically-processed funding information, together with the alert function when new, suitable funding programmes appear, enables RESEARCHconnect to perfectly meet our needs. The comprehensive data is a perfect tool to enable our young scientists to improve their first experiences with the national and international funding system.”

Dr. Daniela Lambertz, Research Associate at Bundeswehr University Munich, concludes: “Through the growing number of research projects, the universities have increased their visibility in the national and international research community.”

The funding received will help to power relevant research at both institutions, with UniBw M focusing on security in Cyber, Space and Society, engineering, economics and social science and UniBw H concentrating on aviation, renewable energy, logistics, engineering, work and safety.
