Councils go live with Idox HMO forms following new legislation
Following the extension of mandatory HMO licensing legislation on 1 October 2018, a number of additional local authorities have gone live with Idox’s HMO solution.
Authorities nationwide – including Bath & North East Somerset Council, Gedling Borough Council, Chichester District Council and Wycombe District Council – have invested in the HMO offering to automate key processes and reduce administrative efforts for council staff, while delivering an improved online application experience for landlords.
Powered by Idox’s Digital Platform, the end-to-end solution equips Licensing teams with the tools to keep up with any increased demand in their area, especially given the 160,000 additional properties now expected to be liable for licensing under the new laws. It also supports full integration with Idox’s back office software, Uniform and Enterprise.

The solution has saved us at least 40 hours in officer time receiving, scanning, and indexing records, as well as in setting up Uniform case records and processing fee payments. All of this work has been done automatically through the system, allowing our small team to focus on processing the licence applications.”
