NIRMA 2018 Annual Conference to welcome Idox
Idox is heading to Las Vegas for the Nuclear Information Records Management Association (NIRMA) Annual Conference 2018. Our nuclear industry expert, Tim Fleet will take to the podium to address the topic of ‘Lowering costs through centralized cloud-based storage.’ His presentation will explore how a highly secure, private cloud infrastructure could manage the records for the entire nuclear industry.
A 2014 survey, estimated that there are approximately 250 million electronic records stored across all the commercial stations in the US. Although a daunting volume 10 years ago, modern IT systems can easily support such capacity.
The session at NIRMA Annual Conference will provide an opportunity for nuclear operators to consider new processes and technologies to drive change, highlight how collaboration between companies could achieve efficiencies, and provoke discussion around new innovative approaches to nuclear records management.
Tim will discuss how:
- A multi-tenanted environment guarantees segregation between individual stations and operators with new levels of security leveraging blockchain technology.
- Partial industry-wide sharing of information could increase efficiency and lower costs
- Digital search technologies will allow operators to better leverage the knowledge held within their records
- Increased access to business know-how could reduce knowledge drain as skilled experts retire from the industry.
