About the role
The Idox Managed Services Team supports the business by designing, building, administering and
maintaining the infrastructure for the companies’ web-based and hosted applications.
Managed Services is a small team, and attempts as much as possible to “work smarter, not harder”, so are frequently re-evaluating latest technologies and ideas and implementing these where they fit with our model. New ways of thinking and working are part of the role, as is keeping constructive relationships with colleagues in development, IT, product teams, sales and support. You will be a core member of this team, supporting day-to-day operations of the production environments and associated systems (development, test, bug tracking, subversion, configuration management etc), and dealing with tickets raised by monitoring software, internal and external users.
Planned growth for the Idox Group means that there is a stream of interesting projects, in addition to daily workflow, related to introduction of new technologies and environments.
We are looking for a Linux Systems Administrator who preferably has experience working with mission critical systems, within a SaaS/Cloud/ISP environment. Joining our team, you will be shaping and supporting the core global infrastructure alongside our emerging devops technology and processes. In return gaining experience in a variety of technologies, including Oracle, networking, storage, Internet, security.

Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Managed Services team, the post-holder’s duties include:

  • The installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, storage,networking infrastructure, databases, and application software
  • Routine troubleshooting, capacity management and change control
  • Third line incident handling, interacting with the ticketing system and the maintenance of operating plans and schedules
  • Monitoring supporting systems such as backup servers, bug tracking systems, configuration systems etc, to ensure production is properly supported
  • Monitoring system and network security
  • Keeping up to date with industry changes, security, bug reports, and pertinent mailing lists
  • Analysis and diagnosis of outages and raised issues.
  • Monitoring and improving disaster recovery strategies
  • Provide on-call support (as part of the rota) for production systems and infrastructure, 24/7, 1 week in 4
  • Responsibility for maintaining and improving own skills
  • Be available for occasional international travel.

To be successful, you’ll need to:

  • Have 3 years of experience administering Linux in a medium-large scale mission high profile environment
  • Have experience of VMWare ESX/ Vcentre
  • Have experience or a working understanding of systems automation and configuration
    management (preferably puppet but any current solution is relevant)
  • Have understanding of basic networking principles, protocols and utilities
  • Be a self-starter, able to see the bigger picture, and identify solutions to problems with “in the box” and “out of the box” solutions
  • Be comfortable working alongside a geographically diverse, multi skilled team, and supporting a 24/7 environment.

Additional desirable qualities:

  • Any experience with Oracle or MySQL/MariaDB databases
  • Any experience with “DevOps” tools – Jenkins, docker etc
  • Any experience with Zabbix monitoring
  • Knowledge of Juniper and Cisco firewalls
  • Knowledge of any enterprise storage solutions.

About the role

Dynamic role at AIM listed company within the Group’s Glasgow based finance team. Idox Plc is a highly acquisitive company with turnover of £77m. You would be responsible for;

This is a split role to cover three areas of finance - accounts payable, credit control and sales invoicing. This role will also cover ad hoc duties as noted below.

Accounts Payable:

  • Daily bank and nominal reconciliations
  • Full accounts payable cycle – print invoices, authorisation, process on system, pay, allocate on system, file
  • Review of expenses to ensure in line with Group Expenses Policy, correct VAT claimed and
    receipts are received.
  • Preparation and review of payment runs
  • Review of cash balances to ensure sufficient funds for payments
  • Setting up POs on Agresso system for Finance costs
  • Supplier reconciliations
  • Supplier and invoice analysis as required
  • Management of central mailbox
  • Deal with email and telephone queries from employees, suppliers and contractors
  • Preparation of monthly prepayments

About the role

This is an opportunity for a Business Analyst with experience in software, ideally document management systems, to join our team.
