Electoral reform: a never-ending story?

It might sometimes seem that the UK’s elections system is a solid, age-old structure that has remained the same for generations. However our electoral system has never been cast in stone, and over the past two centuries there have been significant changes to the way we vote.

Now, further reforms are being considered, including changes to the way that voters are registered, how their information is updated, and the laws that govern the delivery of elections.
