iManage Cloud: Strong adoption, rapid innovation and customer-led progress since launch
Building momentum since July 2024
Since the launch of iManage Cloud in July 2024, adoption of Idoxโs cloud-based Gazetteer Management System has gathered significant momentum. Designed to modernise the management of Local Land and Property Gazetteers (LLPG) and Local Street Gazetteers (LSG), iManage Cloud has quickly proven its value as a flexible, efficient and future-ready solution for local authorities.
Since its initial release, 30 local authorities have already adopted iManage Cloud, with more migrations planned and underway. This is clear evidence of the sectorโs appetite for agile, cloud-first solutions.
Rapid innovation enabled by the cloud
One of the most notable differences between iManage Cloud and its desktop predecessor is its ability to evolve rapidly. As with any new product, early feedback highlighted areas for refinement, and the cloud platform has enabled us to respond quickly to these insights. All improvements have been delivered through a controlled development and release process, ensuring stability and reliability for our users.
Since release, iManage Cloud has delivered:
- 10 product releases
- 3 brand-new features
- 23 enhancements, alongside ongoing bug fixes and performance improvements
- New in-product notification service that automatically notifies users of upcoming releases or other relevant information e.g. webinars
The migration to iManage Cloud was seamless, and now weโre saving time and money while maintaining our Platinum standard for data quality.

GIS Lead, Somerset Council
Because the platform is cloud-based, updates can be rolled out far more frequently than with the desktop version, both without disruption or requiring any action from users. This increased agility allows Idox to respond quickly to customer feedback, emerging standards and operational needs, delivering continuous improvement throughout the year rather than infrequent, major upgrades.
โThe brilliant thing is the fact that updates to iManage Cloud are so fast. To be that agile, with no effort required from us, is fantastic.โ
Sean Schofield, GIS Analyst Programmer, Torbay Council
Customer ideas driving the roadmap
Customer focus has remained central to iManage Cloudโs development beyond launch. A key part of this is the iManage Cloud Ideas Portal, which captures suggestions for new features and improvements directly from users.
The portal allows customers not only to submit ideas, but also to vote on othersโ suggestions, giving Idox clear insight into the priorities that matter most across the user community. This transparent, collaborative approach ensures that the development roadmap reflects the needs of the majority and delivers the greatest practical benefit.
The result is a solution that continues to be shaped by those who use it every day.
Measurable efficiency gains for users
Local authorities already migrating to iManage Cloud are seeing tangible benefits, including time savings, reduced manual effort and maintained, or improved, data quality standards.

New functionality has also streamlined day-to-day tasks, with features such as multi-editing significantly reducing the time spent maintaining records.

Accuracy, compliance and confidence
Automated validation aligned to the latest GeoPlace standard remains a core strength of iManage Cloud. As data is entered, intelligent wizards guide users through best-practice workflows, highlighting issues early and ensuring accuracy before export to the national hub. This approach reduces rework, supports consistency and helps councils achieve and maintain gold and platinum data standards with confidence.
Always evolving, always collaborative
While the first release of iManage Cloud marked an important milestone, it was only the beginning. Its cloud-native architecture provides the foundation for ongoing innovation, scalability and responsiveness to future technology and standard changes.
โOur customers have been instrumental in shaping iManage Cloud from the very beginning,โ says Claire Russell, Product Specialist, Address Data Solutions at Idox.
โThe pace of development since launch reflects both the agility of the platform and the strength of that collaboration. Weโre committed to continuing this journey, ensuring iManage Cloud evolves in line with how local authorities actually work.โ
Looking ahead
With growing adoption, frequent releases and an engaged customer community, iManage Cloud is already delivering on its promise: making the management of LLPGs and LSGs easier, more efficient, more resilient, and in line with emerging technologies.
As more councils make the move to the cloud, Idox remains committed to delivering a constantly evolving, customer-led solution that supports better data, better services and better outcomes for local authorities and the communities they serve.
