Calderdale Council embraces the cloud for enhanced public services

For nearly a decade, Calderdale Council has been at the forefront of leveraging technology to serve its community. Since 2016, the Council has relied on a suite of Idox solutions, including Mobile Apps, Total Land Charges, Document Management (DMS), all underpinned by Uniform, to power its operations and deliver essential services. This latest move to Uniform Cloud will transform the same feature-rich experience of on-premise into a fully cloud-hosted and managed service. It provides the perfect infrastructure for the Council to become more agile, scalable and resilient.

As technology evolves, so do the demands on local authorities. Calderdale Council recognised the increasing pressure to reduce the costs associated with hardware and the specialised ICT skills needed to maintain on-premise systems. Having already used Uniform for nine years, the Council knew moving to Uniform Cloud was the right choice for them. It will relieve the burden of keeping IT systems secure and maintained and will migrate their data and processes under one roof while being secure and compliant. This strategic shift underpins the Council’s continuous drive to deploy the latest products and improve overall operational efficiencies.

Calderdale Council’s continued partnership with Idox, facilitated through the Vertical Application Solutions (RM6259) framework, has been instrumental in this journey. Through a system supervisor service and TMS, Idox has trained and empowered the Council to build knowledge and confidence around the products they use, which has been crucial in taking the next step in Uniform Cloud deployment.

Kaye Sykes, Technical Support Team Leader, Calderdale Council comments, “Moving away from on-premise to Uniform Cloud will simplify and modernise the way our systems are updated, keeping Calderdale Council at the forefront of change and enabling us to take advantage of the benefits upgrades can bring more rapidly.”

I’m also delighted that our long-standing and productive relationship with Idox can continue, providing stability and continuity to both staff and customers, while always offering opportunities to improve the way we work through innovative solutions.

Rachel Emmett-Renaud, Idox Business Consultant, is thrilled about this next step for Calderdale Council, commenting, “It’s truly wonderful to see Calderdale take this next vital step. Having worked closely with the Council for 5 years, I know how important it is for them to be ahead of the game in terms of efficiency to not only help their processes but to be able to provide fantastic services to their community. I look forward to seeing the benefits Uniform Cloud will bring to the Council as a result of this next crucial move”.
