Idox’s Sexual Health Software helps customers quickly respond to the Monkeypox outbreak in the UK

Within days of the announcement of rise in number of Monkeypox cases in the UK, Idox has issued guidance that helps customers in Sexual Health Services (SHS) implement the UK Health Security Agency’s (UKHSA) required coding for Monkeypox – as part of its GUMCAD STI Surveillance data submission.

With Monkeypox declared a global emergency by the World Health Organisation (WHO), it is a priority for UKHSA to understand and capture data related to the viral infection. This is to help track infection rates and gain insight into vaccine production requirements. Idox’s Lilie enables the implementation of UKHSA coding to offer Monkeypox vaccines, testing and treatment to those affected, as well as facilitates the reporting of all Monkeypox activities to the UKHSA – without delay. Lilie is an electronic patient record software specially designed and built for sexual health services, contraception and HIV management.

Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has rapidly rolled out its online appointments system for Monkeypox vaccines via Lilie Hub. Lilie Hub is a new, innovative, browser-based solution that supports the new hybrid landscape of delivering efficient sexual health services. Patients can search, book and manage appointments online as well as have access to information, advice and guidance using the Hub.

According to Dr Martyn Wood, Regional Clinical Director – Axess Sexual Health Services, “We’re using Lilie Hub purely for vaccinations at the moment and we’re so pleased with how effective it’s been. The product is highly adaptable so we were swiftly able to implement the system to support those most at risk. The feedback from patients has been positive as they’ve found the triage and booking process user-friendly and straightforward.”

Chris Evans, Head of Product and Strategy at Idox comments, “We’ve been able to quickly deliver an efficient solution to this evolving challenge. The rate at which customers have been able to adapt Lilie Hub to respond to those at risk of Monkeypox is a testament to how innovative and agile our technology and delivery teams can be in a rapidly changing environment.”
