Idox LGR Roadshows:
supporting councils on the journey ahead

In May, we were delighted to host a series of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) roadshow events in Manchester, Reading and Peterborough, bringing together attendees from over 40 of our local authority customers sites.

These roadshow events marked the beginning of a wider programme of support from Idox and, more importantly, an opportunity to connect, listen and collaborate with valued customers navigating their LGR journeys.

A strong start to the LGR conversation

Across all three events, the atmosphere was engaging, collaborative and forward-looking. Attendees came together to share experiences, ask questions and explore the challenges and opportunities that LGR presents.

At the heart of the events was a shared recognition of the scale and complexity of LGR from organisational change through to systems, data and service delivery.

The roadshows were designed to focus on the practical realities councils are facing when approaching system consolidation, with sessions covering:

These topics were brought to life through a mix of presentations, customer examples and interactive breakout discussions, helping attendees move from theory to practical understanding.

One of the strongest messages from attendees was the value of hearing from others who have been through, or are starting to go through, LGR. These insights helped attendees better understand how to approach consolidation projects, avoid common pitfalls and plan effectively.

Networking and discussion were consistently highlighted as some of the most valuable parts of the day. The opportunity to collaborate helped attendees feel less isolated in the process and more confident in their approach.

Data and preparation are critical foundations

Sessions on data preparedness and LLPG/LSG alignment resonated strongly, with attendees recognising their importance in ensuring a smooth transition. There was a clear appetite for deeper guidance in this area, reinforcing the need for structured, early preparation.
