Idox Announces New Releases for CasparLaw and CasparGov, Strengthening Support for Local Authorities and Legal Practices

3 February 2026 – Idox has announced its latest releases for CasparLaw and CasparGov, its specialist software solutions used by Local Authority Adult Social Care services and Court of Protection (CoP) legal practices across England & Wales. These releases deliver a wide range of enhancements that improve financial management efficiency, reporting clarity, and dayโ€‘toโ€‘day workflow processes.

Both updates reflect Idoxโ€™s ongoing commitment to customerโ€‘centric development, with many improvements shaped directly by feedback from councils, legal partners, and frontline practitioners.

CasparGov is widely used by UK Local Authorities to manage financial affairs for individuals who lack capacity under deputyship or appointeeship arrangements.

CasparLaw is trusted by CoP legal practitioners to run efficient, compliant, clientโ€‘focused financial management practices.

These releases demonstrate Idoxโ€™s continued investment in helping public service teams and legal professionals meet their statutory obligations with clarity, confidence and efficiency.

Sarah Mandley, Product Manager at Idox, commented: โ€œOur customers work in complex, highly accountable environments. Many of these enhancements came directly from customer requests and are designed to make everyday tasks simpler, reduce unnecessary steps, and bring key information into one place. Customer feedback continues to play a central role in how we prioritise and shape the Caspar roadmap.โ€

Key enhancements across both platforms for improved financial visibility and workflow efficiency include:ย

  • Smarter automatic reconciliation with fewer exceptions, as improved matching logic now handles repeated payments more intelligently, reducing multi-match scenarios and manual intervention.
  • Improved visibility and faster updates during reconciliation, with plan bank references and expected reconciled balances now available directly within the reconciliation screen, removing the need to navigate away.
  • More informed plan creation through Auto Plan alerts, which notify users when a relevant plan already exists, helping avoid duplication and unnecessary follow-up work.

Our customers work in complex, highly accountable environments. Many of these enhancements came directly from customer requests and are designed to make everyday tasks simpler, reduce unnecessary steps, and bring key information into one place.

To help legal practices and Local Authorities produce clearer, more consistent reports, both solutions now include:

  • Clearer, more complete Annual Enquiry reporting for OPG submissions, bringing all required portal data into one well-structured export with improved ordering and subtotals
  • Balance reporting with variance visibility, including Personnel filtering and automatic breakdowns of unreconciled transactions where differences exist.

Idox is committed to its customers. Sarah said: โ€œWe work closely with Local Authorities and legal firms who rely on CasparGov and CasparLaw every day. Their feedback directly influences what we build next. These releases show our commitment to continuously evolving our solutions to ensure they meet the needs of our customers.โ€
