While the timeline for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) continues to evolve, councils have a valuable opportunity to prepare with confidence. By taking practical steps now, organisations can reduce risk, improve resilience and be better positioned to respond effectively as the next phase of LGR takes shape.

In preparation for LGR, councils face the complex task of bringing together property and street data from multiple authorities ahead of vesting day. Creating a single, trusted gazetteer is a critical step in ensuring service continuity, improving data quality and supporting the new authority from day one.

Colchester City Council has joined the growing number of councils choosing Uniform Cloud to modernise its Built Environment services. Supporting Planning and Building Control, alongside Exacom, the new hosted solution will provide a connected platform to improve workflows, information sharing and flexible working, while enhancing the digital experience for customers and stakeholders. We’re delighted to be working with Colchester City Council and to support its continued investment in smarter, more efficient services for its residents, businesses and communities.

Idox has reached a major milestone in its partnership with HM Land Registry, with more than 100 Total Land Charges sites now live using its API integration. The solution automatically synchronises Local Land Charges data with the national register, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency for local authorities, conveyancers and property buyers. Building on successful migrations nationwide, this achievement highlights Idox’s leadership in land charges software and its role in delivering large-scale digital transformation across local government.
