As local government reorganisation accelerates, Somerset Council offers a powerful example of what’s possible. Idox is progressing development of new Building Safety Levy (BSL) back-office functionality for Uniform and Idox Cloud, with release planned for Autumn 2026. Design work is complete and development is underway through Spring and Summer 2026.

The new capability will support key BSL processes including application and Initial Notice recording, levy calculations and exemptions, payments and refunds, communications, approvals, reviews and appeals, plus quarterly return reporting. Integration with Exacom will also enable file exchange and reporting where required.

Account Management and Professional Services teams are preparing to support onboarding across on-premise, hosted and cloud environments ahead of October, with further guidance to follow later this year. Idox can also supply the new Exacom BSL module directly to authorities under its partnership agreement, with initial deployments beginning in June.
