University of Montpellier drives research excellence with Idox funding solution

As one of the leading universities in France, the University of Montpellier (UM) is an educational home to over 43,000 students and 4,600 staff. With national and international recognition – not least in the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities 2018 and Reuters World's Most Innovative Universities 2019 – the University’s scientific research forms a core part of its world-class reputation.

UM aims to provide its 1,500+ researchers with the required technological platforms and facilities for cutting-edge research across its 76 laboratories. As such, its investment in Idox’s Open 4 Research platform since 2017 has delivered relevant funding opportunities for key research projects. The platform allows UM researchers to find targeted funds that match their project aims – and which are less commonly known to the research community – maximising the chances of funding success. Typhanie Roy, Project Manager at the University of Montpellier comments:

“Open 4 Research helps our department to achieve a relevant watch on the various calls for proposals. It is also highly useful for our services which are aimed at providing researchers with relevant calls for proposals and opportunities. The database is constantly updated, and provides a one-stop shop of funding information. We are constantly reminding our department how O4R can be used and should be exploited.”

Open 4 Research has also supported the University’s multi-year strategy, which places emphasis on quality and excellence in all processes – including research, training, strategy/policy-making, project set-up and monitoring, etc – in accordance with the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research.
