West Somerset Council selects IDOX to help manage nuclear power project
Published 2 June 2010
West Somerset Council has awarded IDOX the contract to implement a new planning system, enabling them to facilitate the impending major nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point. The Authority chose IDOX because of their proven track record for delivering similar projects to short and fixed timescales.
Hinkley Point is one of ten sites earmarked for a huge expansion of nuclear power across the UK, and due to the scope of the project, West Somerset Council required a system where staff can effectively monitor each stage of the application, as well as process mass documents and reports rapidly.
Adrian Dyer, Chief Executive of West Somerset Council stated:
"By selecting the market leader IDOX, we are confident that we now have the means to process the major application work seamlessly. The IDOX Enterprise live performance management service will streamline our internal processes and after the core system implementation, IDOX's Public Access solution will enhance citizen engagement at a very important time for West Somerset Council."
