North West Leicestershire District Council plans ahead with IDOX

Published 5 May 2010

North West Leicestershire District Council has implemented the latest Public Access and Consultee Access solutions for Building Control from the IDOX group.

The local authority acknowledging that it could soon be a requirement for local authorities to publish building control information on the web, in a similar manner to planning, took the opportunity to implement the IDOX solutions to stay ahead.

The IDOX solution is designed to be accessible to a wide range of users including citizens, councillors or anyone interested in keeping up-to-date with building regulation applications.

The local authority also took advantage of IDOX Consultee Access which enables online submission of comments by Statutory Consultees. This will allow them to improve efficiencies whilst offering an improved and more flexible service to Statutory Consultees, the majority of whom achieve efficiencies through an online solution including savings in relation to the costs of paper, postage and staff time.

David Darlington, Building Control Manager at North West Leicestershire District Council said:

"IDOX delivered the best product for building control at a price which was competitive and affordable. I am of the opinion that a fully integrated ICT solution, like IDOX offers for building control, is the only way to deliver efficiencies."
