Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council has awarded Idox a contract to supply the Exacom Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 Agreement monitoring solution. Integrating with Idox’s existing Planning software in use at the Council, the solution will significantly simplify the complex management of these processes and enable effective financial control over CIL and S106 fund collection and spending.
CILs and S106 agreements provide significant funding to local authorities as a result of development and enable the provision of a wide range of infrastructure such as new roads, schools, park improvements and social care facilities.
Councils are able to use the proceeds from CILs to fund a significant amount, if not all, of the initial setup and administration expenses.
